“Clean Sri Lanka”, an organization that implements community welfare programs in the area, recently provided a number of Garbage bins to schools in the Pottuvil area to protect the school children from environmental pollution.
CLEAN SRI LANKA annually implements services such as cleaning beach and tourist areas in general, waste management, plastic use reduction awareness programme, tree planting campaign and setting up of garbage bins at public places to keep the environment clean and tidy.
The main objective of the organization’s social welfare programs is to set up garbage bins for schools. Especially this organisation works to make awareness among school children about the importance of keeping the environment clean. This organization provides Garbage bins to local schools with the objective of passing the mechanism of Waste Management System to the next generation.
An inaugural event was recently held to provide garbage bins for schools to sort and recycle waste under the Waste Management and Environmental Protection Program implemented by the organization.
Digamadulla District MP Mudunabeen Musharraf was the Chief Guest at the event and Ampara District Government Agent D.M.L. Bandaranaike, Pottuvil Divisional Secretary Chanduruwan Anuradha, Assistant Divisional Secretary M.I.Firnas and many members of the organization including and Tourism Development Council Chairman A.M. Jawfer attended the event.
