About 20 Retired Judges Association protests against Minister Sabri

he Retired Judges’ Association has sent a letter to Justice Minister Mohamed Ali Sabri protesting that the 20th Amendment prejudices a constitutional separation of powers.

In particular, the letter states that the 20th Amendment to the Constitution is prejudicial to the balance of power that should exist between the executive, the judiciary and the legislature.

It is reported that the Judges have taken note of the fact that the Parliamentary Council introduced by the 20th Amendment does not have the power to make any recommendations regarding the appointment of Judges instead of the 19th Amendment introduced by the 17th Amendment.
