Members of Parliament of the Samagi Jana Balawega today (08) pledged to defeat the 20th Amendment to the Constitution.
In front of the statue of the late Ven. Maduwawawe Sobhitha Thero. The ‘People’s Movement Ahead 19’ organized by the Samagi Jana Balawegya to protest against the 20th Amendment to the Constitution was scheduled to commence at 4 pm today in front of the statue of the late Ven. Maduluwawe Sobitha Thero.
However, a problem arose at the beginning of the program due to the organizers not obtaining the necessary permission to operate the loudspeakers relevant to the program.
The program commenced with the participation of the Leader of the Opposition Sajith Premadasa and members of the Samagi Jana Balawega Parliament. The pledge to defeat the 20th Amendment to the Constitution was then taken by all the Members present.
